Bought a pair of chairs for [...] for the 2. Really good value. [...] They were easy to assemble with all SS hardware, maybe a klutz would have trouble.They are amazingly comfortable. I assembled them in our living room and they have not left yet (2 weesk later) they are so comfortable I sit in them all evening. If I was really big they might not fit but I'm 150#/ 5'6"and I fit fine.I really like that they are Oak, not whimpy pine or cedar that won't hold a screw for long,it appears to be a chinese White oak not red oak(non durable). The grain is raised in a few places by the Linseed oil so maybe I will lightly sand If I re-oil. But all edges are soft and well rounded.Now, where can I find covers for the chairs so I can put them on the deck where they are really supposed to go? couldn't find covers on Hayneedle.Definatly one of my best web buys.

So close to being a great chair!

I just purchased two of these chairs and am left with rather mixed feelings.

First the good:
+ They told me that the Oak is "Chinese Oak" which is apparently very similar to White Oak. I believe it now that I have seen it. I expect that it will weather well just like white oak.

+ The pieces are all nicely cut and straight and the edges have been rounded.

+ Very comfortable to sit in

+ Very nice looking

+ Reasonable price

Now the negatives:

- The finish is very light. I put a couple of extra coats of outdoor oil on it.

-- Assembly was a nightmare! The pre-drilled holes did not line up properly on either of my 2 chairs. There is a bar that runs along the back of the chair that supports the back of the armrests. On both of my chairs the support bar/armrest/frame joint did not come together properly. This isn't a case of wood bending or shrinking, but rather someone incorrectly drilling the pre-drilled holes. Rather than try to re-drill the holes myself (which seemed risky), I got out my trusty chisel and took 1/8" off of both ends of the support bar. This added about 45 minutes to the construction of each chair. In the end they went together nicely, but why was it so painful?

Conclusion: This has the potential to be a wonderful value Adirondack chair, but until they get quality control issues regarding assembly under control I can't really recommend it.

    I ordered 2 for my back patio. They went together painlessly, all the holes were correctly drilled and the hardware was fine. I wish they'd included proper washers in the box, honestly I spent about 60 cents on washers to do it right.

    The staining seems pretty light but since this is Tucson I knew I'd have to seal it myself anyways so it wasn't a big concern. Just remember that you will have to seal it yourself if you want it to last.

      I was very happy with the quality and appearance of the Adirondack chairs I bought from Hampton. They look classy and are built solidly. I was a little concerned about assembly based on some of the other reviews. My two were easily assembled in 30 minutes each with no problems at all. I did have a helping hand from my wife. All the holes lined up perfectly. Could not have been easier and still called assembly.

        I purchased these chairs and ottomans for our dock and hope they will survive the brutal Florida sun, rains and wind. These chairs with matching ottomans are very attractive, very comfortable, and were easy to assemble. The quality and finish are very nice. I researched many adirondack chairs online and at several home stores and I think this set is a great price performer. I look forward to using them for a long time.
